May 2010, Lynn Seay re-launched a full-time communications consulting
practice, Seay Public Relations, which she originally established in
February 2003. Leveraging her 25+ years of experience in a
variety of marketing disciplines -- including strategic public
relations planning and execution, media relations, analyst relations,
executive visibility programs, employee relations, new B2B and consumer
brand or product launches, and positioning/launching early stage
companies – Lynn is focused on helping clients achieve their
communications goals efficiently and effectively.Co-founder and Partner of prwerks, LLC since January 2004, Lynn built and grew a successful public relations agency that was ranked in the Top 20 PR agencies by The Pittsburgh Business Times and consistently increased annual revenues during its seven years of operations. prwerks clients included BodyMedia, Inc., Thorley Industries/4Moms, The Pittsburgh Steelers, Robert Morris University, The Allegheny Conference on Community Development, The Good Grief Center, and Pittsburgh Social Venture Partners, among others. Lynn has a strong base of expertise in the robotics category and has provided counsel to start-up companies, spin-offs and companies that are undertaking a brand launch or preparing for an IPO. She maintains relationships with reporters and analysts who cover the technology/robotics industry and has represented The Technology Collaborative and National Center for Defense Robotics, RedZone Robotics, The Pittsburgh Technology Council, Carnegie Mellon University’s Red Team Racing, and RoboBusiness, the only national industry event dedicated to the growth and development of the mobile robotics and intelligent systems industry. Lynn joined Ketchum/Pittsburgh as a Senior Account Executive in 1997 to help build its technology practice. During her five years at the agency, Lynn was promoted to Vice President and led several account teams, including Catalyst Connection (formerly SPIRC), Redleaf Group, LLC, Cerebellum Software, Inc., STORM, LLC, Blue Hammock, and Ben Franklin Technology Partners. She also contributed her marketing and public relations expertise to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Community and Economic Development, i2 Technologies, Baxter Healthcare Corporation, FreeMarkets, Inc., and Nokia. Lynn also delivered pro bono public relations services to MediaSite, Inc. and Entrepreneurs for Pittsburgh, a local consortium of technology professionals. In 1996 and 1997, Lynn served as Marketing Manager for Cox Interactive Media (CIM), supporting the launch of CIM’s Pittsburgh Web site, www.pittsburgh.com. Prior to that, Lynn held the position of Director of Marketing & Public Relations for PhotoWave, Inc. During her tenure, the digital photography company received the Innovative Product Award at the 1997 Photo Marketing Association (PMA) trade show for its mobile, fully equipped interactive digital photography studio. Before returning to her native Pittsburgh in 1996, Lynn was employed at several major publications in New York City and Texas in the public relations, promotion/marketing, and advertising departments, including Rolling Stone, US, Texas Monthly, Sportswear International, and In Fashion. Lynn graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies. Lynn currently serves on the Board of Governors of The Pittsburgh Golf Club and is a member of the Women’s Committee of The Carnegie Museum of Pittsburgh. She also served on the Board of Directors of The Carriage House Children’s Center from 2003-2005. |
